Coulrophobia
A downloadable game
Your name is Emi, something traumatized you a year ago at Tarika Fun Park...
What exactly happened?
Walk in a trance through a huge funhouse facility and relive what her weeping eye had to see.
This game has been made with HPL2, the engine Amnesia - The Dark Descent runs with. You don't need Amnesia TDD to run this. Just run Coulruphobia.exe inside the folder.

Puzzle guide:
Chess room: Place the baby marbles inside the round sockets. If you reach the room with the marble higher up, check the "empty" hallway on the other side and look down on the floor. At the end of the hallway, you'll find the top of a long bar inside the ground, pull it out and use it to move the marble from it's higher position.
Funpark Entrance Area: You see the color coded holes on the walls, listen to the sound they make. At the end of the level, you see five color coded doors. The word on the floor should match the sound you heard from each hole. Walk through the correct door linked to the color. (Fear = RED, Lust = PINK, Birthday = YELLOW, Voices = BLUE, feral = GREEN).
Board game: Move the red piece 5 places on the position of the yellow piece. (The red dice shows how many steps the red figurine should move). Now move the yellow figurine back to it's starter position in the corner. An interactable cube will now drop destroying the door on the other side of the level.

This story contains sensitive topics! Caution is advised!
Also, this game includes AI images!
I know that the topic of AI is very controversial. I agree with it for the most part. I did not pay anything for the generation of images and I do not want to profit from this game! Whether this generator includes stolen images, I unfortunately do not know.
I also wouldn't have paid any artist to design me photorealistic images for this project. Means: I would have skipped character paintings altogether if I hadn't found this generator.

Overall, I rather enjoyed myself here. I did find the board game puzzle slightly obtuse and lacking of maybe like ONE more hint to give you some idea of what to do. It was only being familiar with Ludo from childhood that even gave me the option to guess at all.
I do appreciate the restraint in not filling the game with killer clowns chasing you. Hearing the voice recordings and being in a weird funhouse as you slowly put two and two together was plenty...
...which brings us to the topic of the AI images featured in the game. Personally, I am an opponent of AI generated creative content, though some leeway is considerable when dealing with non profit things like this.
However, the AI images add truly nothing to the experience here. Aside from a few hallways where you might see some (very obvious) AI clown portraits, and I assume the final portrait, they really don't add to the game's atmosphere, and it's not like you don't understand you're dealing with a Clown themed game without them. If anything, removing them might make things creepier, cause it would allow you to paint your own image in your head. Now they're just there to be there and be mildly spooky-looking, but they kind of fail at that, too. I really see no reason to have them included at all for the purpose of telling the story you're telling.
But anyway . Coulrophobia was bizarre, spooky, and gets thorough unpleasant once you realize what things are actually about, which I can appreciate. Very solid work here!
Really great game. As per your request at the beginning of the game, I tried to make less silly edits as the story got more serious.
one thing i would say is that the SORRY puzzle was pretty brutal, at least for me. I don't think i would have gotten it without the guide
Also is that the actual voice actor on those tracks or is it ai?
Hello! I am sorry for the difficult puzzle. I am planning to add some clues in the future! No, all the voices are real. I would never dare to AI scramble VA's work!
hello! I really enjoyed the game, but I think there wasn't enough explanation about the board game in the middle.
Still, it was a game of great quality, so I was able to immerse myself in it and play it.
Personally, I recommend that you give it a try.
Thanks for playing. Sorry for the troubles the boad game has created. I will take the hint and add more clues in the next patch.
Hey, I found a VERY strange bug;
I turned on my headphones for this game. However, the game's audio doesn't play through the headphones; it plays from the computer instead. My headphones work perfectly with YouTube videos and other games, but not this game, for some reason.
EDIT: It seems like it's because the game doesn't detect my headphones as a sound device, and didn't auto-connect to it. I'll reset the game & try again.
Update: It worked!
Happens, hope you had a spooky time!
Cool game!
Right now I'm working on figuring out what to do in the board game room (can you please help me ? ^^')
It's a good game !
Move the red piece next to the others on the board and the yellow one with the other yellows off to the side
Thank you ! Even if I don't know the logic behind it (it's been a while since I play this board game so I suppose it's the rules)
I was afraid that the rule set of this board game is unknown. I will create a guide soon, thank you for asking!
No problem! took me awhile to figure it out, lol
